Recent work has developed from research in Co. Mayo and Co. Sligo, where I explored light in darkness. With an interest in archaeology and uilleann pipe drones, I have reshaped my apprehension of the dark, exploring different ways my creativity operates in my understanding of the capacity of illumination in darkness.  In collaboration with archaeologist Sam Moore and uilleann piper Stephen Porter, places of darkness, both historical and natural, (Carrowkeel Megalithic Complex, Caves of Kesh, Moore Hall and Nephin dark sky park), monuments to place and time, to past and present, were visited and experienced; art became archaeology, archaeology art. Questions emanating from this research were. What is language? Who’s in charge of language? What’s right in terms of translation? These questions will form part of my ongoing research.
